Week 2

Week 2 (Feb 15th)

Current Weight: 157 lbs

Measurements: thigh 21”, hips 41”, waist 38”, chest 42”

5 units

I was hoping for a little more weight loss but honestly, that’s a healthy amount. And an inch off my waist in a week is exciting! If I can lose 10 lbs a month I will be a happy camper. At any rate it does seem to be working but my bowels are not!

(Sunday)

Full disclosure, I’ve had IBS for decades and I have medication to help it along so I thought I wouldn’t have much trouble. Ugh. I’m on day 5 of the drought. Now, I have literally gone more than a week without going but with sema I am a little worried as there have been many cases of blockage that have needed medical attention. So yesterday I tried the Dulcolax chews (Works in 30 min – 6 hrs? Lies) and my prescription Linzess. Nada. This morning I put a capfull of Miralax in my smoothie so fingers crossed.

Speaking of smoothies! I purchased a 4 pack of Premier chocolate smoothies to try. They have 30g of protein and only 7g of carbs. Perfect! Straight out of the box is good, but I would get bored with that pretty quick. My friend suggested getting the Magic Bullet to make shakes and oh. my. goodness! Chocolate banana shakes are delicious! I have vanilla being delivered tomorrow and I can’t wait to try it with strawberries! I would 100% recommend the small Magic Bullet. It’s perfect for the single serving shakes and only $20 at Walmart. Oh! Also, they have their own version of Premier so I bought a case of it. It’s way cheaper.

My lack of desire to drink is still happening although I did go out with friends Friday night and had 2 drinks. My issue now is that I can’t get to sleep at night. I take melatonin and vape my indica (yes, I have a MMJ card) and I just lay there. I make up for it during the day, but I can’t shake it. So I’m open to suggestions!

                                                              Tuesday

The floodgates did indeed open last night! Whew!

My side effects so far: I’ve noticed (and I know I’ve only been on it 2 weeks) that the noise starts coming back around day 4. From a food standpoint I’m still okay because I continue to feel full, but the anxiety from the desire to drink returns as well and it’s frustrating. I’ve also had bouts of insomnia, which I’m attributing to not drinking alcohol before bed. My husband notices that I’m short tempered more often and I’m trying to work on it.

Vanilla Premier with frozen bananas and strawberries.  Redi whip on top!
